More Than a Majority – A Collective Vision

More Than a Majority – A Collective Vision
My work is expressionistic with a focus on intense colour and raw emotion
My art looks at how we are perceived and how we want to be perceived by others.
Through painting and poetry, I expand on the unique experiences of women.
Paula Telizyn is a contemporary Canadian painter and writer, who works primarily in acrylic.
With past shows in Ontario, Quebec, Spain, Ireland, England and Scotland, Paula’s art has been on the global stage. Her work can be found in private collections around the world.
After an accident made painting challenging, Paula took a break to explore working with artists, writing books and more.
Paula’s return to working as a painter is currently in progress. Her new debut show will be in October of 2026, in Derby UK.
I believe art is a service and a fundamental human right. My practice spans from intensely coloured portraits to surrealist exploration, always driven by the philosophy that creativity is the ultimate connector.
After a career spent deconstructing colonial views and championing the artistic hustle, I now create work that reflects our shared stories and who we want to be. I don’t just paint people or characters; I paint the spirit of each subject.
